Try executing same code in Command window, does it work there? Is the main table actually loaded and selected when you fire this code in Load? there is nothing wrong with your strategy and I find no syntax problem, but maybe add 'WITH CDX' on COPY STRUCTURE command. As alternative you can use CREATE CURSOR command.
