Mr. Livermore: I apologize if you have taken offense at the statement: "While many other 'products' are simply personal database scripts thrown together in FoxPro or Access, our product has always been written in a real programming language, by real computer experts. We are dog hobbyists but computer professionals." I intended no derogation towards FoxPro or Access themselves. The statement was intended to connote the fact that many amateurs enter the animal software market with hodgepodge, unprofessional products. When they do, some number of customers sign on, then they have support questions, and the "product" in question disappears. Then we here have the unpleasant task of designing a data convertor for a database that is, without a doubt, poorly designed. Having programmed in Clipper, DBase and FoxPro at other times in my life (especially in the late '80s and early '90s), I firmly believe that FoxPro is a wonderful tool -- in the right hands. Again, I apologize for my comment. No personal animus is felt, and no derogation intended. The statement in question will be redacted or removed.
