The reason behind my asking you which 2nd language would be best is bec I always read and hear a lot of advises about learning a VB, C++, or C# or Java 'just to be sure'... (transalation: why do some people don't consider VFP as a 'real language' and that it might be bumped off, discontinued, you know what I mean). Also of equal importance is that learning a 2nd one would make one more 'marketable'.

Actually, I am very happy with VFP. I do apps which rely on a fast data engine and won't be costly to my clients as well. VFP has its own data engine and is FAST. No need to buy another product (SQL Server - if you use VB right?).

I have been programming in xBASE ever since dBase II days and went up the Foxpro ladder thru the years. I have never felt the need for any other language. Most of the apps I did are 'business oriented' - payroll, accounting, timekeeping, inventory...

So having said quite a mouthful, I am humbly asking your opinion which would be a great 2nd programming language to learn? I guess it shld be truly object oriented, and has a far reaching capability than VFP.

Once again, THANKS SERGEY!
