Ed, could you use SYS(2015) to name those files if you wanted to? I believe that the alphanumeric string it returns is always unique, always ascending, no? If so, you could just pick the lowest ordinal value of all files so named as the "next in queue" to be printed. Exact date/timestamp of file is then no longer an issue.
