Is this even possible? There is an example on the Crystal knowledgebase about trapping the format event and changing the object reference to the image, but I have no idea how to translate that into VFP, or if you can even do it. Is there any other way? I am storing the path and filename for the image in the database, not the picture itself (using SQL Server). Given that you supposedly can display a graphic contained in a BLOB field - would I be better off in this case just storing the actual image in the table? We're talking small lo-res images here, nothing huge. My client currently has them all as PCX files, definitely they have to be converted. My previous application did a workaround where I copied the image to a known location/filename and had an OLE object on the report. That is not practical with my current app, I need to be able to either print based on a file name or stored data. If I CAN load the image give the file name and path, I won't have to do any conversion of the actual files, I have a routine already that could convert the PCX files into JPG or BMP.
This issue keeps coming back to haunt me. Why Crystal has not added a simple way to print dynamic images just amazes me, but based on their online forums, no one is asking for it. Hard to believe. No one uses Crystal to generate a catalog-style inventory report with pictures of each item?
