Hmmm, not sure where to go next with certainty but here are a couple of things that come to mind
1)Just open your .aspx file from the browser without going through the IDE. See what that gets you.
2) Try making another web and seeing if that works.
3)Look at the properties of the DOCUMENT (right click the .aspx page in view mode, select properties, choose DOCUMENT in the combo)and make sure the target schema is not set to Navigator or something.
4)Make sure there is not something weird in the Codebehind= or Inherits= statements located atop of the .aspx file.
If it's not sensitive and you want I'll try to open it over here.

Wish I could do better than this but this is all that I can think of.

>>>Something appears to have happened to my configuration in the last day or two. I can no longer run my web app (using F5 or CTRL-F5). The browser shows up but then rather than rendering the ASPX in the browser, the file downloads as if it were an FTP site. Then a clone version of the ASPX file appears in HTML form . . . and the browser closes.

>>>I have re-loaded and re-configured IIS and tried starting over with a simple one form solution but still cannot get it resolved.

>>>Anyone have any experience in this?

>Thanks for the response. Yes, I have made sure that my start page is defined. If I right click on a page and "view in browser" I also get strange effect. It's as if the browser is a level 1.0 but I have the latest update of IE 6. IE6 works for me in all other situations - like now, for instance.
