Not all, YAG. Nothing taken personal. I apologise if it was taken in that manner.

But I will say this: Time will tell the which is the better language. For everyone that gambled on VB6 because Microsoft was pushing it have lost the bet. Plenty of work will have to be thrown out or rewritten because of the lack of full backwards compatability. A lot of relearning is being done by VB6ers. Sure, .NET (VB.NET or C#) is new and exciting - but how do you expect corporate america to embrace a programming language when you need to relearn and rewrite with every new release.

C# being the evolution of C has similar syntax to C and C++. VB.NET has similar syntax but the structure of the language has changed and is not completely backwards compatible with VB6.

C# is a brand new language with a lot of flexibility and I chose to gamble with C#.

Maybe now with a sound foundation like .NET that'll force Microsoft to include backwards compatability with both VB.NET and C#.

My personal choice is C# - the C# syntax helps me keep VFP and C# totally seperate from one another. IMO, VB is too closely similar to VFP and causes confusion.

I respect your personal choice of VB.NET but given the opportunity to give an opinion to someone I will encourage C# over VB.NET.
