Close the project, too, since it may keep the database open. As an alternative, you can also close the database from the project. But start trying to close everything with CLOSE ALL.
Also, it is usually convenient to work with a copy of the original folder - the copy contains only the files you want to distribute. For instance, only the EXE (but not the PRGs, forms, etc., that go into the EXE), and the database.
