The project is intensive enough that I wouldn't attempt it in VB and Access, but it is ideally suited for VFP. The problem here, is that I don't know enough about FileMaker Pro to make meaningful counter points.
Did he say why? I don't know anything about FileMaker Pro, except that it seems to be popular with Mac users. If he wants the database or at least its interface to go on a Mac, that's at least a good reason not to use VFP. Its Mac version stopped at 3.0 and wasn't very good from what people say.
What should Mac developers use to make their databases?
