Eric;

I have created a number of financial, scientific and engineering applications. The biggest problem is the degree of accuracy and rounding errors. You have to test for the desired (required) degree of accuracy. In this case it appears that the Operating System has interaction with the result due to how it treats rounding errors. It would be best to define your algorithms to take this into account if at all possible. Sometimes we do not know what operating system is in use by a client. :)
