Michel,

>>>>Meaning changing the order of their appearance in the toolbars! Those little icons are not very intuitive as to their function - without the tooltips one must tread very lightly or you end up doing something you don't want to do. Take a look at the "Private" message screen without tooltips sometime...

>>>Just send me revised ones of those you think are not a good indication on what they do and I'll be happy to consider them.

>>Not being a Web or graphics designer, I have no clue as to what a more appropriate graphic might be. All I asked was to not rearrange them arbitrarily. I am sure I am not the only Netscape user here - why else have a Linux forum? You must admit that without tooltips, this interface is difficult to use.

>We will arrange our Web site and product as we wish.

Indeed. I stand forewarned. Thank you.

>The only reason I mentioned that statement is as good as your suggestion for enhancements is in regards to those icons as good as any complain will follow from a lot of members. From years to years, we enhanced those litte areas containing artwork, and despite the fact that in general it's always for the best, there is always some that want something else. For now, we use most of the MS standard icons. So, if it is ok within Outlook and Word, why isn't ok on UT. You see, that's my point.

Now, where did I make any suggestion for icon enhancements? Unintuitive was my comment - I had no suggestions for any replacements. I am sure Microsoft has done extensive studies that show these are the best at the moment - yet they see fit to give you tooltips to back them up. Right now, I look at the top toolbar and know what the icons represent - through repetitive use. Knowing their use, I can now look at them and maybe discern some reflection of their function from the graphic. However, through usage of this interface, movement to a function is from habit - I know WHERE to go. If you wish to change their placement in the toolbar, I will now be back to total dependence on the tooltips to function.

Guess I should have put a smiley emoticon or spelled out (TOUNGUE IN CHEEK) after my intial comment about rearrangement. I really didn't me to stick me head in a bee's nest. We had a private conversation a while back and I understand your position about browser support. I am pleased that you are making an effort to support other browsers. Just don't take it so personal and vent in my direction. I RARELY come here in other that IE clothes - I have learned my lesson.

>Now, as to know why NS still doesn't support tooltip, this is not something I can resolve. It's been years that tooltip are supported with ALT and I really can't understand why they still don't want to support it.

(Shrug) It seems that they support it elsewhere - I even see it here on rare occasions in the status bar, just seems intermittent.
