Well, being a good programmer is not really about having specific knowledge about a specific language I believe. Someone could know all there is to know about VFP and still be a bad programmer, although a thirst for knowledge often seems to go hand in hand with good skills.
If what you know about VFP is good enough for the type of applications you're developing, then don't worry about it, but if you often find yourself wondering how to do this or that, and just don't do it because there's no wizard for it, then you should really reconsider your stance.
I'd say, and this is just my humble opinion, that you can consider yourself a good programmer if among other things:
- You can solve problems in a timely and elegant manner.
- You develop robust and efficient applications that meet the requirements presented to you.
- You have the ability to acquire new knowledge when necessary, not limiting yourself to what you know now.
