Now, as to know why NS still doesn't support tooltip, this is not something I can resolve. It's been years that tooltip are supported with ALT and I really can't understand why they still don't want to support it.

After a bit of study this AM, I have discovered a couple of things. #1, I still know zip about HTML or Web design. #2, the truth IS out there.

Netscape and Mozilla properly use the ALT attribute according to W3C HTML 4.01 standards in that, in the absence of an image in the agent (browser), the ALT text is displayed. By turning off images in the browser, or by them otherwise being unavailable, your 'tooltips' display fine in the status bar. Now, if I replace all of the ALT attributes in the toolbar frame with TITLE, both browsers seem just fine, displaying in a tooltip fashion. The spec also states that the IMG object requires an ALT attribute - maybe both would be more appropriate?
