XML isn't really designed to be the fastest way to exchange megabytes worth of data.

You might take a look at what Rick Strahl has in his wwxml classlib, it may have implemented a better algorithm to process the XMLDOM tree.

I'm curious about the performance of the ADO intermediary that Alexander suggested.
