I'm trying to develop an application to search for existence of RealWorld accounting reports and to create a record in a table where I store the entire report in a memo field. I parse the report to remove trailing blanks on each line and remove the extraneous lines at the end of each page. This compresses the size of the report by 60%. Since all of these reports are 132 columns wide, I need to set the printer into compressed print prior to printing. It's easy enough to figure out the character string to do that so I plan to define a printer as generic text and then include the compress string at the beginning of the report. That is easy. The part I'm having difficulty with is sending the memo field to the printer just as a string of print lines. This seems simple, but the solution is eluding me.
