Doug,
Some proportional fonts (such as MS Sans Serif) do use fixed sizes for the numbers (but not spaces), so I know what you are saying about using right-alignment. The only problem is, it doesn't seem to work when using the calculation (there have been threads on this before).
So, some options as I see them:
1) use a fixed-font, such as Courier, and left-align. Perhaps there is a fixed-width Sans-Serif font that will blend with your report, but I don't know about that.
2) use the transform() function on all fields in that column, as Sergey has suggested, and right-align.
3) have you tried adding a report variable to do the calculation, and then dropping that variable on the report? That may not be subject to the same problem you are having.
4) punt? *grin*
HTH,
steve
