I am using VFP6 (will soon be VPF7) and have never used the registry with our application. I would like to store some settings there e.g. password, and the number of trial day the application will run. Our users of the software are not very computer literate.

If I store a value after the application has been installed then the application is uninstalled will the entry be removed?

Windows ME and XP have a system restore feature if I write a value to the registry from our app then the user uses the system restore will it remove the entry made?

How common is it for an entry to become corrupted say if the computer froze and the user turned it off?

My main concern is that the benefits I gain will be out weighed by the problems but as I said I have never used the registry and I hope I'm wrong.

Any comment are most welcome.
