From what I can see it looks to be a lot more lightweight so it may run a bit faster. But you loose a lot that you get with .NET like auto project management and cross project debugging etc.
If you have VS.NET and performance is adequate I doubt Matrix will help you much for anything. However, it could be handy to have it running on a server where you need to edit or debug pages when you have problems with something.
