Mark;

I am going to ask family and friends living in Los Angeles how things went there. Hope you catch up on your sleep! :)

Tom

>Thank you for making our last night [this past Friday night] in Vancouver a memorable one. You soccer team managed to defeat Spain in the World Cup soccer tournament and advance you to the next round which is not even the championship game. Yet you decide to celebrate in the street below our hotel room until 4:00am. There were probably at least 3 to 5 thousand of you honking horns, beating drums, blasting air horns, chanting, yelling and doing the wave. This throng of people stretched from store fronts across the street to the opposite store fronts for at least 3 blocks. Although we were on the 20th floor, had our air conditioning fan on high and all windows closed, you came through loud and clear.

>We particularly enjoyed having to have all our luggage ready by 3:30am so the porter could pick them up so we could all be loaded for a 4:30am bus ride to the airport. Alas, all your celebrating did not thwart our attempts to be on time for our flight because the bus was redirected to the alley behind the hotel where we embarked on our journey home.

>I commend you for not rioting, looting or vandalizing. However, I pity that beautiful city should your team actually win the World Cup. Our family, however, will be wildly cheering on your opponents.
