As Ed says, It depends on what you are using it for. I have Symbol wedge devices that are writing to the record through the keyboard buffer, Symbol LDT batch devices that write to a delimited text file when downloaded, then the text is imported and written to the record by a VFP routine, and Symbol/Palm devices that write to a PalmBD on the local station where the VFP program picks up the data and synchs it to the database. Maybe some day realtime ODBC wireless. All depends on the task. Try http://barcoding.com as well as hallogram.com.
