Wayne,
Thanks for this. What I meant was: on a small app with say up to 15 users simultaneous users, which of the following solutions would be faster in terms of data transfer between a server site and client sites using dial up connection:
Solution 1 - Citrix using WTS or
Solution 2 - SQL Server connection
rather than a mix of both. I'm still trying to get a lead as to which path to go down first in order to satisfy some of my clients who are demanding faster data transfer rates and who want to move our apps from LANS to WANS as quickly as possible.
I've been getting feedback from existing VFP/Citrix users that as the numbers of simultaneous users increase then the speed of operation decreases significantly (e.g. with say 100 users) and that when you get to this size of app you should go to SQL Server for a better solution. Our apps are unlikely to ever get near this number of simultaneous users so I guess I should try the Citrix/WTS solution first?
I wouldn't mind the opportunity to discuss this with you over the phone if possible for 5 minutes or so. If this is OK with you, could you give me a daytime tel number for me to use?
Thank you.
