That's pretty much what I thought...I knew you could do filters and other things in ADO.NET, but didn't think that actual SQL statements could be executed.

It's part of the final 'data munging' I'm so used to doing in VFP applications - bring back raw data, then do additional grouping to prepare a set of data for Crystal.

It's part of the big culture shock I'm going through in learning .NET. For the most part, I like what I see in .NET - it's just a matter of learning new ways to accomplish 'old' tasks. I'm really grateful that there are people on the Thread who have many of the answers!
