Hi Cecil,
Why you put in your comparison integration of Stonefield's Database ToolKit. And didn't take in account how they work with SQLServer or possibility the same front end to work either with DBFs or SQLServer.
You can download from UT #12963 our DataTools. You can add it to Visual ProMatrix 7.0 framework and the package will become cheaper.

>I have heard many good things about Visual MaxFrame 2002 and even attended a set of classes offered in Orange CA rcently (May 2002), which showed many good things about the product. Drew Speedie the architect for VMP was on hand teaching the classes and showed us many "cool" things.

>We are about to make a decision soon as to which framework we will use in our conversion of a FoxPro for DOS system to Visual FoxPro 7.0 (or 8.0).

>I would sure be very appreciative if I had responses from several users of each product to educate me on their experiences with these products. Whatever we choose, it will be for better or worse.

>Visual MaxFrame 2002:
>(1) A bit of a learning curve here.
>(2) Product depth is very good.
>(3) N-Tier is in place.
>(4) Integrates Stonefield's Database ToolKit (SDT).
>(5) Cost per license is $499.00.
>(6) Annual subscription: 199.00
>(7) On market since 1997.
>(8) Many developers. I know a bunch of develoeprs who use MaxFrame out here in S. Calif. and also checked with a friend in the North Texas area and found that there are many more dvelopers using MaxFrame there.
>
>Visual ProMatrix 7.0:
>(1) Easy to learn.
>(2) N-Tier Beta is due in July 2002.
>(3) Has its own data dictionary.
>(4) Doesn't integrate Stonefield's Database ToolKit.
>(5) Cost for 1st license $695.00, 2nd and so on licenses $595.00.
>(6) Upgrade about $200.00 to next version per license.
>(7) On market since 1994.
>(8) Developer base of ProMatrix developers seems small here in S. Calif and in N. Texas.
>
>As you can see from the few considerations above, which are obviously limited in scope, we still need to do some more analysis to make our final determination and must consider other areas as well.
>
>Thank you,
