>>I have a Syjet removeable drive installed on my computer. Few weeks ago, I had to reinstall Windows from scratch because of instability. Everything is fine now but my removeable drive is acting strange. In the Explorer, it is labeled as 3 1/2 drive. Before reinstall it was correctly labeled a Removeable Drive. It still works most of the time but sometimes, I have trouble because it thinks it's a floppy drive. Sometimes after reboot Windows thinks my CD-ROM drive is a removeable drive etc. etc. How can I tell Windows to set things straight once and for all???

John,

I had a similar problem. I end up re-installing my syjet. Also don't forget that windows needs to see an actual cartridge in the drive during the boot-up sequence. Failing to do so will produce sometimes (yes not all the times) strange results. You did not mention if it was IDE or SCSI but by the nature of the problem i suspect IDE.

Good Luck,
