Sorry, no answer, Jolene, but a few questions...

1) I take it that the switch to XP was recent. Is that correct?

2) Is XP the 'Home" or 'Professional' version?

3) How many workstations are "served" by the Win98 machine?

4) Was the number of workstations served changed recently? If so, what was the old number, before problems happened?

5) Is the Win98 OS the SE version or the first Win98 version?

good luck

>Hi,
>
>We have an application that was written with Visual Foxpro 5.0. One of our office's that is using this application has been experiencing some strange behavior lately and I was wondering if XP could be the cause.
>
>That office has a computer with Windows 98 installed. This computer is used as their server (as such)... All other computers accessing this system are networked to share the database. All those 'client' computers are running Windows XP.
>
>The odd behavior is that one user will input comments in the memo field for their client and a different user will see those comments attached to a different client. Those comments will get saved to the incorrect client.
>
>As I said, this system has been in production for quite some time now and has been debugged to death. We haven't had any releases in 3 years and we have many other offices using the system and aren't experiencing similar problems. At first we thought their fpt files may have been corrupted, so we replaced all their data structures and reloaded the data. But they are still experiencing the same problem.
>
>When we wrote the application, it was written for and tested on Windows 95 and 98 platforms. We are unsure of any issues that may exist between XP OS and VFP 5.0.... If anyone knows of what could be causing this problem, or of any issues between VFP 5.0 and XP... please share with me ASAP as this is kind of urgent!!!!

>Thanks in advance.
