>>Hey, George - me also. Unless the password is stored on the local machine, I'm quite sure Ed is right when network security is done well, with lockdown, etc.

It's possible for hacker to plant a keyboard-capture program that transmits keypresses to the hacker, and thereby a password can be learned - but this only works in low-security situations, and I've only heard of it occurring on XP Home machines that have very little security. It's fairly sophisticated and classified as a virus, and I believe all the (updated) AV apps know how to check for it. Not sure what the name is. But I also use ZoneAlarm Pro at home, just for such problems as that.

>ya there are a zillion of those keyboard-capture programs, heck you could even make one with VFP. I'd say about 99% of those are NOT going to be picked up by any AV software. As for the firewall, that will help if the capture log is being sent by the keyboard-capture program - but the better ones are going to just wait until you open outlook or something then slip it out that way. FYI ZoneAlarm Pro is better than nothing but it is the laughing stock of all hackers. It's to easy to have your firewall-beater-trogen or whatever modify (or even delete) zonealarm's rules - thus making it rather useless.

Of course you can always check to see if there are any 'extra' processes running on your machine or you can get something like http://www.anti-keylogger.com/
