>Hi. Have a NT 4.0 server (sp6) with Win98 w/s utilizing TCP/IP.
> It seems that my w/s are not releasing files when software aborts abnormally (Foxpro). I know this because I get an "already in use" msg (relating to my file opening) when I attemp to run programs again. Once we reboot the w/s, we are fine. This has only been happening for the last week.

Hey, Randy, I had that exact problem a long while ago, maybe 2-3 years or so. Same OS, protocol, etc. If you search way back you'll find my posts on it. I'm trying to recall how I solved it...

Ah, here we go, memory returns: It was caused by a server hardware problem. As I was still trying possible solutions (like an error-handler + file closes, registry changes, stuff like that), that particular server up and died on me (main drive and I/O ability totally dead). I brought in a new server, and no more problem. Drastic, but that was it.

From this info, have you tried running it off a different server, do you have one?
