>Hi. Have a NT 4.0 server (sp6) with Win98 w/s utilizing TCP/IP.
> It seems that my w/s are not releasing files when software aborts abnormally (Foxpro). I know this because I get an "already in use" msg (relating to my file opening) when I attemp to run programs again. Once we reboot the w/s, we are fine. This has only been happening for the last week.

Addendum: Check the clocks on the machines involved, make sure they are all in good sync. I just remembered that was a symptom of the server dieing, the clock started going haywire just beforehand when the files didn't close right. Now (a few years later) that I know more about how things work, I know the server/workstation clocks MUST be in close sync to get the files to close properly with WRITEAHEAD and whatnot, with your OS and protocol. That's a simpler possible cause, check it also.
