Why no
Use locate with all fields
I have search class
I shows in the grid all fields of the selected cursor and second column for the value
Any fields can be entered
To avoid types problem I have 3 textboxes in this second column
one of the text type, one integer type, one date time
When button for search is clicked, I go throug cursor and take
all fields, where value in the second column is enetered
I gather all in the variable
with m.srch='locate fro '+..
and &srch
So any casual search can be done for any casual cursor
