Close all does indeed help, but i can't find anywhere in my code that i have overwritten the handle before close.

lhFormatFile = fopen(lcfile)
fseek(lhFormatFile,0)
lcLine = fgets(lhFormatFile)
fclose(lhFormatFile)

this code is in a loop and lcfile changes to different file names.
