What's now known as a C0000005 used to be more commonly called a "General Protection Fault". The reason for my questions was that under VFP 6.0 prior to SP3 top-level forms did have some problems, especially on release. The majority of these were caused by the absence of DCOM on Win95 boxes. There were other reasons, and these were addressed beginning with SP3 and the two service packs that followed.

Now to answer your question, if a proper installation was done, then I believe it's unlikely that the wrong run-time would be used.
