Grid Header Captions - mixed up

I am using VFP5.0a with no Service Pack applied.
Normally when you drag a table onto a form you will get automatically a grid
( let's assume we haven't modified the field mapping); the grid builder
will, also automatically, put the captions that you defined in the database
table, onto the grid columns' headers. My problem is that they are all mixed
up: if the draged table has more than 4 fields, the captions are mixed with
no apparent rule, they are not above the right fields anymore: has anyone
experienced this strange behaviour, is it a bug or is it some obscure
setting that I haven't set right?

And just to spice up the things: if I am using the Form Wizard and have a table with
a large number of fields (>30 for instance), no matter what I do, I can't get the wizard to
use a pageframe ( I checked the appropriate box, I tried resizing the screen, nothing seems to
work).

Has anyone an idea about what's happening?
Any answer would be appreciated, even if it's "you have to reinstall VFP, the code has been damaged" :)
