If you are to be the only author (developer) on the project, you may be able to negotiate rates or offer ownership shares in the project. You can always refuse to do it! Maybe a patron or white knight is out there somewhere.

Your country is early in her revolution. Support those representatives and politico's that share your point of view.

Russian physicists, mathmeticians and artists have given the world some amazing things. We all look forward to the next gift! The truth and wisdom of individual effort will come around. Funding, by itself, however, is not enough. In many cases, you need access to experts and technical data.

If you have an idea - shop it. I know people that are looking for ideas. But you also have to realize that many in the west fear that entering into agreements with eastern businesses may result in a loss of the protections we enjoy in the west. Piracy is a big concern. Enforcing agreements is a big concern.

It seems individual creativity in the west has just a tad more support than it does over there. Things will turn - but just how soon - that is the question:)
