But why even try?, don't get me wrong, I like VFP, and It's the only tool I've used for professional development, but if I was working with a company and they asked me to use another tool, I'd say great, the more I know the better, unless I felt that VFP or some other language for that matter was way better than they're proposal, or they we're asking me to use something outdated.

Now if you feel strongly about this, prove them they have nothing to worry about with VFP, that you can guarantee data security and integrity and deliver what they want with VFP.

Or, further more, you can compromise, how about an n-tier application with Oracle as a back end.
