>I have an IBM 486 working as a samba print server. It has wide Epson printer attached to it. I had windows 95 workstations printing to it. However I just upgraded the Windows 95 to WIndows XP, reports that used to take 15 minutes to print now take just over an hour. Has this happened to anyone else? How do I get the speed to return?

mmm... I don't use a print server. I am using CUPS to write to my Lexmark Z52, which prints lightening fast.

Is your XP spooling the whole job before it sends it to your print server?

T find out you can traced where the bottle neck is. How long does a job stay in your XP printer job que? While that's happening what is 'top' showing and what does iptraf show on your server?

What is in your /etc/printcap file?
