Thanks for the reply. As I mentioned in previous messages, the array is the result of a SQL query which is used to populate a combo list in a for...next loop.
Should be straight forward - I am successfully using the same routine for other combo lists, without compile errors.
Also, in spite of the compile error, the routine works as expected.
I may, as a last act of desperation, create a new form and do a step-by-step copy of the objects onto it, making sure that they have a coating of eye-of newt first!
