Thanks for the prompt reply.. sounded great but it didn't seem to work. tried the code you supplied setting focus on several different colntrols, but nothing seems to work unless i acctually change the row. column changing doesn't even seem to work??? Makes sence but can't seem to come up with a reliable way to committ the changes ie.. what if there is only one record displayed can't move to top and then bottom of rows in grid??? I'm perplexed
