Well I came up with a solution that seems to work even though I really don't like it THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY????

If i select the view the grid is based upon and issue a goto bottom followed by a goto top it seems to commit the data, even when only one record is present? Not exactally understanding what is going on here(well the record pointer changes to commit the data when more then one record, the single record scenario still confuses me)
