I just did a simple test with a base VFP form with a base VFP grid on it. Put a .JPG as the Form.Picture. Grid scrolling was fast. Athlon/1000, 512MB RAM, 32MB GeForce2MX, latest nVidia reference drivers.
What is your hardware (CPU/RAM/video card) and OS?
