You are right, Tracy. I guess we want to do the right thing, but the demands of the moment pull us another direction.

Years ago when I was still working in aerospace, I lived in Round Rock< Texas, and worked for a small company in Austin, Tracor Aerospace. We were required to work a mandatory 60 hours per week. For 5 months, I received no extra compensation beyond 40 hours, while contractors and other employees did. When, after 9 months of this, I decided to work only 50 hours; my supervisor's boss became very angry about my brief change in work hours; I needed to have some time to recuperate from the demanding time schedule. I was feeling guilty about not spending more time with my wife and children, so I slowed downt he speeding train and left work after 10 hours per day.

I was glad to leave that company soon thereafter.

If you spend ALL of your waking hours working, what energy do you have for anything else, much less the damage to your health? Isn't it better to do all things in moderation?
