Sit down with your boss and try to get out of him why he wants to use Oracle. Is it because he read some articles, wants to use some features (which he may not know is in another product), his son/daughter just took it in school, he has heard it is secure, his friend at another company uses it, he saw an ad on TV... Once you find that info, try to address it.
Let him know that VFP can be the forms and reports that access the Oracle data, he may not understand that.
If he insists on Oracle, see it as an opportunity to learn rather than a threat to your existing expertise.
