As far as I know there is *NO* difference between the two functions - *NEITHER* of them can be relied upon with OKL executions, BUT what that really means is that the value may change because OKL (or DO or a function) *can* involve parameters and so PCOUNT() or PARAMETERS() then will have the number pertinent to the latest DO/OKL/function.

Who can say why MS didn't document it? - it is documented in VFP 5!
