We ran into this problem trying to implement drag and drop within a Treeview control. The problem was that we were unable to eliminate the backlink to the place the dropped item came from without sending a "Nothing" to it. The boys at Microsoft finally told us that it wasn't possible to simulate "Nothing" from VFP and offered to write us a small VB ActiveX that we could CREATEOBJECT() on and use to send "Nothing". We are still waiting for this, and expect to get is soon. The downside to this is that we will need to include the 700k? VB runtime with our app.

Somewhere along the way, someone hinted that this problem was "going to be fixed soon."
