Hi Hilmar,

>Still, I insist that Muslims believe in a single supreme God

No argument there. They do indeed.

I'd reply to this "it depends". In the Bible the god of the Bible reveals Himself very specifically so I'd think it would indeed matter though more for our benefit I suppose.

Well, the definition of Allah is indeed different than the definion found in the Bible. Allah is much more 'distant' and capricious that the god of the Bible. That's not meant as a pejorative statement; rather a reflection of the differences regarding the definioin of the word/concept 'god' found in both.

Indeed they do, though yet again the definioin of the nature of Jesus is different. Remember, 'Christ' is more of a title or position. Now, as to the differences; one of them is that Islam teaches that Jesus was a great prophet, with Mohammed as the greatest whereas the Bible plainly states that Jesus was the actual incarnation of YHVH in the form of a human being. Fully God and fully man at the same time. So, as such, while both revere Jesus there's a huge difference in definitions.

I think that many people do not understand the differences in the definitions of words I suppose..
