Did you see the article in the knowledgebase here on UT?
I tried to push a HTML help where I work but, finally it was not accepted. (The reasons had nothing to do with prons and cons :(). I still believe that you should go for HTML.
The big pro I have: You can have the same document for your Help system and as on-line documentation on Intranet or Internet.
