Search MSDN for "upward diagonal". In no place, except the VFP help file does it even attempt to define upward. And the way I read the VFP entry the additional definition is backwards from what is actually displayed.

I don't know that there is a "correct" definition of upwards and downwards in this context. VFP and VB both use X-Y coordinate systems which are not in alignment with a standard X-Y graph view of the world. Does the definition change for languages where the writing is done from right to left?

IMHO, "upward" means "a line segment with positive slope", but I'm a right-handed, english speaking, nuclear engineer so my outlook on the world is a tad skewed. *bg*
