Everything is fine now but my removeable drive is acting strange. In the Explorer, it is labeled as 3 1/2 drive. Before reinstall it was correctly labeled a Removeable Drive. It still works most of the time but sometimes, I have trouble because it thinks it's a floppy drive. Sometimes after reboot Windows thinks my CD-ROM drive is a removeable drive etc. etc. How can I tell Windows to set things straight once and for all???

Failing to do so will produce sometimes (yes not all the times) strange results. You did not mention if it was IDE or SCSI but by the nature of the problem i suspect IDE.

I've also tried to reinstall the drivers from disk but no luck. As far as drive not being available, since I'm currently using the internal version, it's always on. I have 7 disks although I only use/need one and I never had to change the disk yet (I still have almost a GIG left on the first disk). I recently noticed that the Syjet drive is using MS-DOS compatibility mode when it shouldn't be. I guess I'll try reinstall the drivers again!

John,

Compatibility mode ???? Never seen that before. Well i guessed you already try re-installing your scsi drive as well :-( That win95 is such a piece of work sometimes :-( I would be curious to find out what syquest has to say on that one. Keep me informed and the best of luck.

P.S. Don't spend your entire xmas holiday on that one ....
