I'm the one who keeps having to prove it won't to other people!
Maybe you don't radiate enough confidence in the product yourself to convince others around you.
>And it's not me perpetuating the subject, I'm trying to stop it by gathering advice (yes, that's
advice) from people who have managed to convince other of it's healthy existence.
So what exactly are you going to do with all this advice - rhyme it off chapter and verse to your peers at the office? I can't see that cutting much ice. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Why not let your VFP applications do the talking?
>Yes, but other people (not in the know) will continue to think that FoxPro's future is
less certain than, say, Oracle or Sql-Server.
Apples & Oranges - they just are not the same type of product. Obviously, you have deep fears about this issue. Working for Cornwall County Council, what is the issue anyway? If they switch from VFP, will you be out of a job? Or will they just re-train their developers in whatever is the new tool. If your worried about your future, learn another language in your spare time.
I think on this forum, your preaching to the converted, so to speak.
