Glen,

Before Windows 2000, the Task Scheduler was an option that could be selected when installing Windows. My recall is that it was not one of the default applets but could be selected when using the custom installation routine. I've used this interactive tool to launch FoxPro .EXE applications at scheduled times. The command line or batch equivalent was the AT command.

With Windows 2000, the interactive Task Scheduler has been brought together with the AT command to manage a common set of scheduled activities.

The Task Manager overview is available at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/datacenter/help/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/datacenter/help/taskman_whats_there.htm

The AT command is documented at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/datacenter/help/at.htm

HTH,
Greg

>>>I am trying to find some examples or information on how to interact with the Win2K Task Scheduler. I have downloaded several articles and white papers from MS, but all of the code is C/C++ and, unfortunately, I am not familiar with C programming. Does anyone know where I could find more information that might either be VFP or even VB?

>>The Task Scheduler is a useful Windows Accessory that's been there at least back to Windows 95. I use it on a desktop to schedule and run VFP EXE's. As of this moment, I have it running to process an ASCII file that came in on a scheduled FTP action. Of course, the EXE's created in Visual FoxPro or another tool are most useful if they are set up to run without user interaction.
