You still can have the consolidated as Oracle or MS. If two way replication is needed then you will find this solution light years ahead of the MS JMHO.

>>I have been doing a lot of work with Sql Anywhere Studio from Sybase. This includes a database called Adaptive Sever Anywhere ASA (used to be called Sql Anywhere and before that Watcom). The database is very robust and easy to maintain and much cheaper than SQL Server. There is a product bundled in the studio called Mobilink that is used for data replication. This is an excellent product that actually manages to do a good job of two way replication. ASA also can be used on palm and wince devices and synchronized with a consolidated database. The consolidated database does not have to be a Sybase product. I know it works with MSSQL, Oracle, DB2. Synchronization can happen as often every couple of minutes. The internet can be used for the WAN because communication is IP based. ML can be setup in a mater of hours unless you need to have a lot of conflict scripts.

>>>We have 7 offices (scattered around the county) which all have local servers with a local FoxPro database - it's the same app, but in 7 places!

>>>Can each server have a mirror'd version of the DB and that kicks in? Anyone?
